~♥ Kitchen Corner ♥~

I enjoy spending time in my kitchen.  Whenever I was little I spent a lot of time with my Gram in her kitchen.  I'd watch her make pies, helped her cut squares for her quilts, play cards with her or just spend time talking with her.  I wanted a kitchen that was as welcoming as her kitchen was.

I thought I'd share a little corner of my kitchen with you.
I like to keep things handy for my family to snack on.  There's usually something yummy in the cookie jar or on the cake plate.  I love having my Keurig available for a quick Cup O' Joe.  I keep the K-cups handy in the bottom bowl.  Above it are various breakfast bars for when we're on the run in the morning and we don't have time for a good breakfast.  I have started to collect juicers.  I have two on the table that I bought at thrift stores and the green one on the window sill belonged to my Gram.  The school chalkboard was given to me by a friend.  I like to change the message on it using my Chalk Ink markers.   Click Here to Visit the Chalk Ink Website!

Thank you for stopping by...I always enjoy the company.

Hello to you on this lovely sunny afternoon in Southwestern PA...we were blessed with such a wonderful day...it literally puts sunshine in my soul!

I have finally gotten around to purchasing some flowers for my porch.

The barrel was a yard sale find.
"Calabrachoa - Hot Pink"

I got this toolbox out of our garage...hubby wasn't using it.
"Gerbera Daisy, Orange Mint, Ivy"

I love milk glass...thrift store find.
"Angelart - Pineapple"
More "Angelart - Pineapple" in milk glass.
Silver bowl from my friend, Josie.

I bought geraniums for my deck...still need to spruce up the deck a little.

I have decided to get ferns to hang on my porch this year. My dear hubby found some big beautiful ones at one of our favorite garden store so hopefully I'll get them this weekend.

Thanks for stopping by!

~♥ Powder Room Pictures ♥~

Good Morning!  I thought I'd show you some pictures of my powder room.  It's just off the laundry room.  I recently bought new valances from Wal-mart.  These are by Better Homes and Gardens...aren't they pretty?

Most of these items were thrift store finds...the little plant, the small pictures, apothocary jars, the bird house.
The little wheel barrow is a Hallmark ornament from several years ago.

My favorite shelf in this cupboard.
My dear Mom as a little girl...she was 8 years old.

Would you believe this is a little vase?
Thank you all for stopping by to visit...I really appreciate it!

~♥ Signs of Spring ♥~

Even though there is still snow on the ground at my home, blogging friends, Spring has sprung a few places around the house!  Here is my hutch in the kitchen.
I love these little pitchers...they were a thrift store find.
They're actually measuring cups.
A pewter pitcher filled with spring flowers.
The window above my sink...sorry you can't see it that well...there was glare from the sun (can you see all of the snow in the background?).
More flowers...

A sweet little bird nest always makes me smile!
Thank you for stopping by to visit, sweet blogging friends...I always enjoy your company!
Have a wonderful weekend.

~* My New Treasures *~

Hello blogging friends! I have some goodies to share with you...while visiting a local resale shop to make a donation of things my family no longer needed I found this antique wash stand. At first I wasn't going to get it...what would my dear hubby say...did we really have the room for it...I honestly didn't know what to do so I decided to give my name and number to the sweet lady there. Low and behold I received a call and was offered it at a lower price! Of course, I couldn't pass it up!

I haven't decided exactly what I'm going to do with the finish...should I paint over it...should I strip the paint off? I'm still contemplating what to do.
I love the curved front on it! I know that I am definitely changing the hardware.
I also found this nice picture frame that I'm going to make into a chalkboard for my porch.
And last, but not least, I got this old window from my church. They were replacing all of the windows with new ones. When an announcement was made asking if anyone would want one, I knew I wanted one for sure! I've gone to this church since I was a year old and I wanted a part of history. I'm painting the frame because it's in bad shape, then I'll hang it in the dining room. Thank you so much for stopping by!

Thank you all for your sweet birthday wishes! You all are so kind. On another note, Lil Mama has still not returned and it has been three weeks...I'm still holding out hope that she'll return one day.

~*Thank You, Thrifting & Spring Tweaking*~

Hello again dear blogging friends...first of all I want to thank those of you who left well wishes for the kittens' surgery. They have recovered well and were so glad to get home. I don't think I ever posted pictures of them before so I thought I'd show you what they looked like when they were a month old.
The kitten in the front is Bubba (the only boy), Lil Mama is the Calico (she looks like Mama Cali), and Chewy is in the back. Below is Tinkerbell, Tink for short (she was the smallest in the litter). I'll try and get pictures of them now at six months old. They are my buddies. Every morning they are on the porch waiting for me to go to the barn to feed them.
Now on to my thrifting finds and tweaking! I found these milk glass goblets for .99 cents a piece. I'm not really sure they are goblets, but I don't know what else to call them. I may use them as candle holders.

I also found this small apothocary jar for .49 cents...I added faux eggs in pastel colors.
Would you believe the eggs in this nest are candy? Yep they are...they're the Cadbury eggs I've been buying to nibble on.
I've been tweaking my hutch in kitchen. I love sugar bowls and found this one thrifting, too. It was $2.99.
I found this stand at the thrift store several years ago and never used it. I never knew what to do with it and I saw on one of the blogs I visit that they had cups and saucers on theirs...I wish I could remember where I saw this idea so I could give the wonderful blogger credit (if it's one of my dear followers, could you please let me know...thank you!).
I added these little rabbit figurines to the hutch. They were thirft store finds from several years ago.

I was needing to see some green around my home so I picked up a few new plants on my excursion...
Do you remember this milk glass container from several posts ago? It is now home to a lovely little violet.
Another flower for an old crock...
As always, I appreciate your visits very much...thanks for stopping by!
