Christmas Theme: Kids Special!!

Christmas is a wonderful time to display new craft and ideas. You can choose a theme and color inspiration, there are amazing number of beautiful variations! Ring in the holiday mood with a little planning and search for ideas no more! It gets really easy when you know what you are looking for,pin the idea that inspire, get ready to create and collect :-)

Christmas decoration with kids in mind, its bright, colorful and absolutely cute! Lot of diy ideas and upcycle too. Enjoy crafting and decorating this holiday season.

White Christmas tree with lovely bubblegum colored decoration. Super easy holiday cards on a ribbon, tacked to the wall with a glitter snowflake!
Lovely swag for mantel, little gifts hung on a ribbon. Make the most of what you already have.

Unconventional Pink and Purple Christmas tree! Really simple decoration but it looks absolutely decked up and perfect for a little darling. White background makes the color pop. Sweet and simple!

Kid's bedroom all setup for Christmas! A little tree with their choice of ornaments. Let them punch paper circles and make a garland.
Recycle old tinsel wreath (cardboard circle + tinsel garland), add new baubles, holiday cards. Its fun and its frugal!

How adorable is this! Make a felt ball/pom pom garland. A no fuss banner and a lovingly made advent calendar quilt. Cozy and perfect for apartment too.

What caught my eyes are the handmade pom pom decorations, and felt/card stock reindeer. These are perfectly safe for kids to handle and they will have a ball decorating the tree! Super cute :)

Convert a spiral wire Christmas tree into a personalized one for your little one's room. A little bit of floral wire, and an assortment of embellishments! Do it up differently every year, oh the possibilities..

Beautiful Christmas colors and a rustic sophistication. Decorate with a swag and some elegant embellishments for a special Christmassy effect. A perfect diy surprise!

In true holiday colors, Hanukkah decoration for a festive window. Paper craft, cricut embellishment and little cones to hold peppermint candy. The whole combination is so serene and chic.

Love all the details in here! A simple fir branch, hanging over the table with an assortment of decorations. A new twist to traditional tablescape. Its natural and unique!

Bright and perky! Cute little santa and snowman, with so many cheerful colors are sure to brighten up the holiday mood. Love the gorgeous table setting, happy and festive. :)

Late week random musings.....

Hi there and Happy Friday. Another week gone by.......wow they are going fast! Even though I think some of these random posts might be short, they inevitably end up being rather chock full as I keep on adding to them and by weeks end...I have one heck of a long post, but its normally up through the weekend, so its a few days worth:)
I am still recuperating from my party last weekend, did very much enjoy the leftovers and had a few friends stop over to help me polish them off (cannot stand seeing waste)! I love how the "after effects" of a great party linger well into the week after.............
See exhibit A.
A plate full left of the fabulous French pastries......yum!

And exhibit B.

All the pretty flowers I received still going strong and condensing  some arrangements to maximize their staying power.

Other than that, trying to get going on more projects in my house, doing two E-design jobs, and that along with all my other non blogging commitments has me really busy....as in wishing there were more than 24 hours in the day kind of busy!
So let's begin shall we with all the randomness that has come to make up these random musing posts.....
For those who have not seen, may I present my completed formal powder room........
And the back powder room is pretty much done as well..............

I went to for a lovely breakfast/brunch the other day to a friends house, who had some pretty fall decor out on display, here's a peek....

Love these mugs! I have to find them......

Love seeing autumn branches as she displayed them here......

How cute is this picture? My friend sent it to me of her pooch celebrating his birthday, too adorable to not share!

We have some new lighting going up around here...FINALLY! My bathroom the sconces I was waiting on for about 8 months finally showed up and are being put up in the next few days. You might have seen my new dining room chandelier which I am loving as well as the absolutely gorgeous crystal sconces for the living room.....super happy with the lighting so far!!

Stunning new sconces for the living room

Close up!

The gorgeous new chandelier for the dining room finally came and got hung!

Dough bowls...you know I love them and I have a really great new resource, so kept one for myself and filled it with lemons and artichokes.....

Any good  new books or movies lately? I am soo excited over the release of Les Miserables in December!! Anyone else with me on that? I know its going to be fabulous......
Click on arrow to watch the trailer....looks amazing and the music always gives me goosebumps!

Very off the interior design topic, but I caught tale end of something which captivated my attention and that is the focus in some schools and amongst educators on "CPA va GPA". I was intrigued about what CPA means, it stands for "character point average", its a movement towards taking a closer look at character education vs. traditional education......there was a very interesting article put out by the New York Times that you may or may not have seen, in any case click here for link if you are interested......(particularly interesting for those who have school aged children)

A little store biz...the big buzz is my very special napkin rings, click here if you missed my post on them, worth seeing they are amazing!

Also getting in 5 of these oversized tole trays......antiqued and painted with gorgeous florals! Email me if interested, don't think they will go on the online shop so just email me if you have any questions!

So that's my randomness for this week! Lots of rain around here this weekend.....good weekend for a movie and to catch up on all kinds of things that have fallen to the wayside.  What are you up to this weekend? Hope whatever you are doing is enjoyable and relaxing!

Theme Inspiration: Gothic Decoration!

Gothic decoration is unique and packs a lot of impact! If you love trying edgy and a bit of drama in your decor, this surely is worth consideration. There are so many interpretation, from architecture to color schemes, unique features and a sense of mystery. This is my interpretation of this stunning theme decor.

Surely Halloween has put me in the mood to explore Gothic too, but my understanding is very limited. Enjoy these unusual delights!

The pointed arch is one of the most important characteristic of Gothic architecture. The canopy bed and the spartan bedroom in black and white is surely evocative!

Amazed by this installation. Every day objects come together on shelves to create this interesting skull design!

Black and amethyst are a good combination for Gothic decor. A stylish decor, with just the perfect dose of romance and mystery. Candles and candlesticks are perfect choice for accessory.

Gorgeous decor here. The matte black is an amazing backdrop and the hint of purple is the perfect color for this modern Gothic decor. Love the ledge and b&w pictures!

A good idea for makeover! Find an interesting bureau and paint it black (surface damage no problem!) use a decal or simply trace a Goth design and paint it metallic.

Add a new twist, how about glow in the dark paint..wow!

Wood is a good choice when looking at Gothic features. Make it a little more interesting, add mosaic mirror to the staircase. Its eerie and creative at the same time :o)

Purple and black is popular color combination. This Christmas decor is so unique as its part Gothic with so many elements of Gothic decoration. Very enticing!

Gothic is not just black and ornate, it is stunning and stylish! The simple addition of pointed arc glass accent adds a subtle touch of Gothic. So chic and elegant.

This might not be the perfect Goth decor, but its black and teal walls are so visually striking! The ornate fireplace and black furniture add to the mysterious appeal!

Cute black bird for Halloween and Gothic decor. An easy craft, bunch of black craft paper and some time is all you need. Adorable!

And as always, add a touch of this interesting decor to your life! what an idea, the whole setup is so funky and dramatic. Imagine a holiday red punch for Halloween maybe?! ;)
